Dr. Cherish Williams is a licensed psychologist at CAPS, primarily within the Integrative Health Program (IHP) and Multicultural Health Program (MCHP). She is a native of North Carolina and a double Tar Heel. She received her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology and Sociology from UNC. She also has a Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.) in School and Mental Health Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Williams graduated with her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in School Psychology from UNC.
Prior to joining CAPS, Dr. Williams worked and trained within a variety of settings including outpatient, community mental health, inpatient, and educational settings to serve individual across the lifespan. Her professional interests include, anxiety, insomnia, depression, racial identity developmental, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, and familial stressors. Dr. Williams primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), interpersonal, and strengths-based approaches to serve students at UNC.
In her free time Dr. Williams enjoys spending time with dog, discovering the foodie world, anything Disney or Marvel Universe, and traveling.
