Amber Ferguson (she/her) is a doctoral psychology intern at CAPS. She is originally from The Bahamas and earned her Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology from the University of the Ozarks and her Master of Science (M.S.) in Educational Psychology from Oklahoma State University. She is currently completing her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology at Oklahoma State University. Amber’s professional interests include trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, academic stress and adjustment, acculturation stress, and identity development, including racial and ethnic identity. Amber particularly enjoys working with students from marginalized backgrounds and supporting them as they navigate their identities, relationships, and life experiences. Amber utilizes a multicultural framework in her clinical work, drawing primarily from Person-Centered and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) approaches to create a collaborative and supportive therapeutic environment. Outside of CAPS, Amber enjoys rewatching all 22 seasons of Grey’s Anatomy, traveling to explore new places, trying out new restaurants, and spending quality time with family and friends.
