Nicole is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor. She is from Siler City, NC, about 45 minutes west of Chapel Hill. Nicole earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC, along with a certificate in Systemic Multicultural Counseling. Nicole also completed her bachelor’s degree at Appalachian State University.
Nicole served as a Peace Corps volunteer in rural communities of Guatemala and is fluent in Spanish. She enjoys working with clients who need support in self-exploration and developing their identity. Nicole primarily utilizes a person-centered approach and cognitive restructuring to help clients challenge maladaptive thought patterns and work toward overall wellness.
In her free time, Nicole enjoys spending time with her wife and dog, taking care of her backyard chickens, mowing the grass, gardening, playing video games, watching telenovelas and anime, and working on her dissertation.
