This group provides a space that centers the unique experiences and challenges of being a graduate student of color at UNC-Chapel Hill. Some themes we may discuss include: discrimination and microaggressions, managing stress, navigating your graduate program, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, career planning, communication with advisors, racial or other identity concerns, relationships, mentoring/leadership, work/life balance, and self-care. Please submit a group interest form through the website or contact CAPS if you are interested in participating. All students may engage in all group therapy environments. To join a group, students first meet with a CAPS therapist in a one-on-one setting to determine which group(s) might best support their needs.
