LatinX Support Group

This group is for undergraduate students, graduate & professional students, and post-docs. This group focuses on group members’ unique experiences to explore themes of belonging, invisibility, family, pain, joy, healing, self-worth and acceptance (love), self-discovery, shame, stigma, anger, and discrimination. This group seeks to facilitate empowerment and encouragement, and create a safe and trusting environment to dialogue openly and honestly about the experiences of LatinX people. Being at UNC-Chapel Hill can be a challenge: You may feel isolated, not good enough, unseen and unrecognized, anxious or depressed. Don’t go through this experience alone! Learn more about yourself, your identities and how you want to navigate in the world.

For questions about or to express interest in this group, use the group interest form. Members will need to meet with the facilitator(s) to do a brief screening interview prior to attending. All students may engage in all group therapy environments. To join a group, students first meet with a CAPS therapist in a one-on-one setting to determine which group(s) might best support their needs.
