QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Suicide Gatekeeper Training

Just like CPR is for physical emergencies, QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) is an emergency response that can save lives during a mental health crisis. In just 90 minutes, you’ll gain the skills to recognize when someone is in distress, learn how to help, and practice those skills in a safe environment.

Why QPR?

  • Proven Effectiveness: QPR is the most widely taught Gatekeeper training in the world.
  • Life-Saving Skills: Learn how to Question, Persuade, and Refer someone who may be suicidal.
  • Self-Empowerment: Discover how to get help for yourself or others in preventing suicide.
  • Crisis Management: Understand the common causes and warning signs of suicidal behavior.
  • Immediate Impact: Walk away with the confidence to assist someone in crisis.

Your participation could make all the difference. Sign up today and become a vital part of our community of care.

This school year, training dates will be held on the following days (registration required)

If you are unable to attend any of the dates listed above, there is an asynchronous, online training session offered. The online training takes about an hour to complete and does not need to be finished in one session.

Register for online QPR by entering this registration code: UNCCH2240959979. In the “Notes” section, write whether you are a student, faculty, or staff.

Once you register, QPR will send you an email with instructions on how to access the course.
