The Feeling Seen podcast, hosted by Dr. Erinn Scott, Psy.D., and Dr. Anthony Teasdale, Ph.D., both staff psychologists at CAPS, has launched four new episodes.
These latest episodes explore themes like managing emotions, navigating failure, and cultivating gratitude.
- No Bad Emotions: This episode explores how labeling emotions as “good” or “bad” can be misleading. The hosts discuss ways to view emotions with balance and compassion, helping us better understand what our feelings are trying to tell us.
 - Failure Is Not the End of the World (Parts 1 & 2): These episodes focus on how failure is both unavoidable and valuable. Avoiding it can limit growth, while embracing it fosters learning and resilience. The hosts unpack how fear of failure—especially among college students—can fuel anxiety, and they encourage reframing failure as a step toward growth and discovery.
 - Gratitude: Finding small moments to appreciate throughout the day helps highlight the positives around you. Practicing gratitude reminds us we are more than what we feel in the moment. Gratitude can be shown to others—and to ourselves. The hosts share how it fosters presence and connection between mind and body.

On Feeling Seen, colleagues and friends come together to talk openly about mental health, therapy, and help-seeking—all while keeping it real and relatable. The podcast offers UNC students a more personal view of CAPS and its staff.
Expect insights, laughter, and lessons learned—all dedicated to breaking stigma and helping everyone truly “feel seen.“
