UNC-Chapel Hill has partnered with Mantra Health to expand access to mental health services for students, offering a teletherapy option through Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). Mantra Health serves as a virtual extension of CAPS, providing brief, online therapy at no cost to students.
Students now have the option to receive therapy from CAPS therapists or connect with a Mantra Health provider, often within just one day of seeking help. Both services focus on short-term, solution-focused therapy and aim to remove barriers to care by offering timely support at no charge.
Mantra Health exclusively provides therapy via telehealth, making it a convenient option for students who prefer virtual care or need more flexibility in scheduling. Students interested in using Mantra Health can either visit CAPS for an initial assessment or email [email protected] with their name and PID. CAPS staff will then provide instructions to create an online account and match the student with a therapist based on clinical needs, language, gender, ethnicity, and availability.
The partnership reflects UNC Chapel Hill’s continued commitment to supporting student mental health through flexible, accessible, and responsive services.
