GOALS

Goal #1: Fellows will demonstrate the ability to think about, and integrate into their professional functioning the values and skills that we believe are essential for practicing as a competent entry-level professional clinical social worker.

Objectives for Goal #1:

• Objective 1A) Fellows will demonstrate competence in multicultural awareness and sensitivity; and will integrate multicultural competence into their functioning and development in all other goal areas specified as part of the fellowship.
• Objective 1B) Fellows will demonstrate competence in their professional judgment and their ability to practice in a manner consistent with legal and ethical principles, best practices, and agency policy; and fellows will integrate ethical competence into all other goal areas specified as part of the fellowship.
• Objective 1C) Fellows will demonstrate competence in integrating empirical research and practice evidence into clinical work and other goal areas specified as part of the fellowship.
• Objective 1D) Fellows will demonstrate competence in their ability to have appropriate professional interpersonal relationships.
• Objective 1E) Fellows will demonstrate competence in their ability for self-reflection and self-awareness and for integrating this awareness into their practice of clinical social work.
• Objective 1F) Fellows will use available opportunities to develop and grow as social workers.

Goal #2: Fellows will be competent to provide interventions and clinical services as entry-level practicing clinical social workers.

Objectives for Goal #2:

• Objective 2A) Fellows will demonstrate competency in provision of individual brief therapy.
• Objective 2B) Fellows will demonstrate competency in provision of group therapy.
• Objective 2C) Fellows will demonstrate competency in the provision of triage services, risk assessment, and crisis intervention.
• Objective 2D) Fellows will demonstrate competency in provision of biopsychosocial-spiritual assessment.
• Objective 2E) Fellows will demonstrate competence in providing referral coordination services.
• Objective 2F) Fellows will demonstrate competency in skills necessary to provide effective supervision and training, appropriate to their developmental level.
• Objective 2G) Fellows will demonstrate competency in skills necessary to provide effective consultation, liaison, and outreach.
