CAPS Training Programs

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Counseling and Psychological Services offers a 2000 hour, twelve month, full-time APA-accredited Health Services Psychology internship. Interns participate in a wide array of clinical experiences, while receiving high quality supervision. Our training program places primary emphasis on helping interns to develop clinical expertise and strong skills in individual therapy, triage, crisis work and group therapy.

Our program is a two year program and we had four fellows start in August of 2020, so we do not anticipate any openings for the academic year 21/22. If circumstances change, we will post here and on https://www.universitycounselingjobs.com/. Please contact Amy Leach with any questions about the program- aleach@email.unc.edu

The University of North Carolina Counseling and Psychological Services offers a part-time field placement opportunity for psychology and social work students enrolled in graduate programs. Trainees participate in a wide array of clinical experiences, including, but not limited to, individual therapy, group therapy, referral coordination, and triage. They also receive high quality individual/group supervision and participate in a case conference and seminar, all of which are designed to enhance their personal and professional growth.
