Retrain Your Brain Workshop

Retrain Your Brain is a four-session workshop series designed to help you better understand your emotions and give you the skills you need to break free from your anxiety and improve your mood. During the pandemic, these workshops are being offered as recorded videos. In each module, participants will learn tools for tolerating emotional distress and responding to unhelpful thoughts and behaviors in healthy and productive ways. Each video has accompanying handouts and worksheets to help you practice what you learn. To learn more about what you’ll get out of the modules, please watch the introductory videos, followed by the digital content which includes four modules: Emotional Awareness, Distress Tolerance, Cognitive Appraisal/Reappraisal, and Behavioral Change.

Taking Care of Yourself When Starting a New Practice

Learning new skills is hard! It takes time and practice to “retrain” the brain, so please be patient with yourselves as you try the skills learned in the workshop. We created this workshop series because we know how common these concerns are, and want you to know that you’re not alone in experiencing them. We encourage you to take care of yourselves and practice self-compassion as you learn and start applying these skills. We hope that you’ll come to the workshop, and if we can be of further support, please complete an initial CAPS assessment by giving us a call at 919-966-3658.
